What your skin needs right now| Procoal

I’m a big fan of face masks. There’s something so relaxing about having one that I always make sure I add it to my skincare routine on weekends, to properly end the working week.

After the wedding party in Portugal (there’s a post coming soon about it), I came back with an allergy on my skin face which I believe it was due to all the makeup I wore on those days. My skin is just not used to wearing makeup and because it was a different country, the water I used and products to remove it were different, so I’m guessing it all had a bit of influence and the results weren’t very good.

To make sure my skin was back in shape, as soon as I got back to England I made sure I picked a nice purifying sheet mask. Something natural and smooth to my skin.

And that’s when I tried Procoal Instaclear Control sheet mask that contains botanical extracts that have the benefits of salicylic acid such as exfoliation, and anti-microbial action, without irritating the skin, which is something I really had to avoid. It’s free from parabens, silicones, SLS, mineral oils and paraffin.

So after I cleaned and dried my face, I placed the mask carefully positioned around nose, eye and mouth. I left it for 20 minutes and after removing it, I gently massaged my face until any remaining essence was fully absorbed. I didn’t rinse it afterwards because it just got absorbed.

I could feel a great sensation on my skin straight away, it was softer and smoother. I continued with my daily skincare routine and three days later all the blemishes on my skin were gone and I was so glad my healthy skin was back!

Catastrophe Cosmetic|Lush Product Review

Don’t worry, the experience wasn’t a catastrophe at all. A few weeks ago, 3 to be more precise, I decided to try a calming and moisturising fresh face mask from Lush.

Capture

The Catastrophe Cosmetic face mask is packed with blueberries, calamine and chamomile, rose, and almond oils to soothe and soften the skin.

You just need to smooth a generous layer of this mask onto clean skin and leave for 10 to 15 minutes. I use cold water (you can also use lukewarm water, but avoid hot water) to remove the mask while massaging my face. You can feel a softer skin straight away.

The ingredients:

Blueberries are rich in vitamins and minerals that protect and rejuvenate, helping to repair sun damage and give you a gorgeous glow.

Calamine is soothing, antiseptic powder derived from natural mineral deposits and ferric oxide. It has a high concentration of zinc oxide – an incredibly active material that has the ability to reflect UV rays. This means calamine is often used as (and in) sunscreen to protect and care for the skin.

calamine

Chamomile blue oil is used to improve the condition and appearance of the skin, hair and scalp, as well as for its soothing and calming perfume which blends beautifully with other essential oils.

Irish moss has a softening, soothing feel on the skin and hair and a very gentle cleansing effect.

I’m going to review a different mask every month, but for now, this one is definitely IMG_0297approved and recommended! The only thing I would say is that with a use by date you feel a bit rushed to use it all up before it expires. It’s great for me because it will make me stop being lazy and take care of my skin more often, but some people might not like it.

If you’ve tried this mask, please share your experience on the comments’ section. If you have any facial mask to recommend please feel free to share it too.
