3 Pain Relief Techniques that Really Work

Spending eight hours sat down at a desk and a few more driving around made me start suffering from back pain. I think we all go through this because of our routines, bad postures, etc. And usually, our friends, colleagues and family members even make fun of it saying things like “You’re getting old”.

The truth is, this is something more serious than you think and the earlier you treat this problem the easier it will be in your future to avoid these type of pains. So here are 3 things that helped me with my lower back pain:

Yoga – stretching exercises can really help waking up all parts of our body and to make sure these are in shape and pain-free. If you combine these exercises with breathing techniques you’ll feel relaxed and you’ll see a great improvement in your posture.

Good posture – make sure your chair, either at work, school or wherever you spent most of your time, is in the right position for your weight. You can always add a cushion if it makes you feel more comfortable, this will help you keep a good posture while sitting down. Also make sure you stand up at least every hour, even if it’s to go make yourself a coffee or to just stretch your muscles. Our bodies sometimes need to be awakened.

So Shape Challenge

And here’s the end of my So Shape challenge! To be honest, I still have a few smart meals left, but I decided to give you an update since I started seeing changes.

So I took part in the So Shape Challenge for a week, where I had a smart meal per day, usually at breakfast and normal meals the rest of the day.

I took part in the challenge to get in shape while also improving my health while improving my body’s nutrition and getting my energy levels back up!

So Shape’s low calorie yet complete diet enabled me to keep my muscles while targeting my body to lose fat and not muscle.

During my challenge, I shared on Instagram stories the flavours I was tasting and a few advice to tone up and slim down.

My favourite thing about these smart meals was that they were quick and easy to use, which is ideal for busy people like me during the week. It’s not always easy to take the time to eat healthily and this is a way of making sure I do.

5 Smart Foods that Hydrate your Skin

Although if you start eating food that already hydrates your skin you won’t have to drink so much water throughout the day and you can skip a few moisturizing days. Here’s 5 smart foods that hydrate your skin:

1. Fish

Fish is packed with omega-3 fatty acids, fatty fish like tuna, herring, salmon, and trout are perfect for retaining skin’s moisture and protecting against the cold. You can still keep your meal substantial by making healthy fish sweet and sour or simple salmon and greens.

2. Avocado 

I definitely don’t need any more reasons to love and eat avocados. This fruit is full to the brim with antioxidants, vitamin E, and monounsaturated fats, making it the perfect skin brightener. There’s a reason avocado on toast is so popular. That’s my favourite weekend snack, like you’ve probably already noticed on my Instagram.

3. Kale

Kale is packed with antioxidants and vitamins A, C, and K which are great for fighting skin-damaging free radicals. It’s also got indole-3-carbinol in it, which is a scary sounding chemical that actually boosts DNA repair in cells, meaning your skin will be repaired, hydrated, and protected!

This vitamin A-filled vegetable is celebrated for repairing tissue damage, replenishing dry skin and preventing premature aging. Switch your ordinary potatoes for sweet ones and watch your skin reap the benefits.

5. Dragon fruit

They’re also loaded with antioxidants which fight the free radicals in your body and help slow down the effects of aging. Genius!
