Federal Café, Madrid

One more hot day in Madrid and before heading to visit a few more touristic points, my friends and I decided to have lunch at Federal Café.

The name Federal came from a small town, with the same name, on the Binna Burra rd, halfway between Possum Creek and Goonengerry in Northern New South Wales, Australia. A place where there’s not much to do but dream, and watch the rain fall on quiet streets.

It was a bit late and the restaurant was super crowded! We had to wait a few minutes before they got us a table.

It gave us time to look at the menu, which offers all-day breakfast and brunch dishes, from müesli to baked eggs and the signature ‘morning burger’, as well as a spread of baked goods, a selection of natural juices, and a range of alcoholic beverages.

I had a morning bacon burger with fried egg, onion jam, tomato, bacon and hp sauce. With a natural tomato juice. It was delicious, but it also took years to arrive to my table. I guess next time I have to visit Federal at another time of the day.

The café has a  Nordic look,  bright and airy feel, the place has a very laid-back, welcoming vibe. The indoor-outdoor window sill seats quickly captured my attention. You also have seating on the plaza.

Madrid| Chocolatería San Ginés

This will be the first post of many after my trip to Madrid, where I got to visit the most amazing places and try some local restaurants.

The Chocolatería San Ginés is very well-known for their – churros con chocolate, a delightful dessert of fried dough served with a large teacup of thick, melted chocolate for dipping.

After a long day of walking, my friends and I decided to try it. Guess what! It’s open 24/24! Perfect for satisfying late-night food cravings.

Tiled floors, bright lighting, bow-tied waiters, and collection of old photographs create an atmosphere where no one cares about calories!

Although the waiter wasn’t very gentle (no tip for that one), the churros were great! I totally recommend you to visit it!
