Home Foot Spa

Don’t worry, I’m not going to suggest one of those big machines that give great foot massages but that takes a lot of space in your house and you rarely use them. Maybe while it’s new, but then you just can’t bother.

I want to tell you about the simple and practical things I do to take care of my feet and that you can also apply to your care routine. Because let’s be honest, our feet go through a lot. Whether it’s heels, flat shoes that are just too flat, working hours, hot weather, cold weather and just standing has an impact on our feet.

It’s important to take care of them and to do it frequently. Here’s what I do:

Once a month – I use a pumice stone and sometimes a foot brush to gently exfoliate my feet, at least once a month. If I have the time to do it more frequently I do, but this helps to remove all the dead skin and leave your feet feeling extremely soft.

Once a week – I use foot socks to deeply moisturise the skin. I’ve recently been using the ones from Superdrug. My favourite is the one with enriched with Tea Tree, Peppermint and Vitamin E. I’m also a big fan of the honey and almond one. These help to soothe and soften dry, rough and cracked heels. After using them I always feel like I’m walking on clouds. You can get them here – https://www.superdrug.com/search?q=foot+socks%3Arelevance%3Abrand%3A418065&text=foot+socks&minSel=1.0&maxSel=10.0&minSlider=1.0&maxSlider=10.0&resultsForPage=20&sort=relevance&brand418065=on

Daily – I make sure I go for daily walks because this helps with blood circulation, not only in my feet but also my legs. I also make sure they get enough rest when I get home and that I’m barefoot as much as possible. If it’s cold, just wear socks! Make sure your feet aren’t stuck inside your shoes for too many hours because this will affect them in the long run.

If you want to know more about how to take deeper care of your feet i recommend you read my post about Reflexology – https://tigeronagoldleash.com/2016/08/27/world-meet-reflexology/

Anatomicals| We Only Want You For Your Body

First post of the year!

Everyone is back at work and Christmas stress is history, but we’re still recovering, our skin is still recovering… and that’s why I had the opportunity to test a few products from Anatomicals, the brand that only wants you for your body.

Besides their packaging designs with cheeky messages, they have an entire range of products that make you feel great and are not animal tested!

In a month I’ve tried 3 different face masks:

Farewell the scarlet pimplehell – a deep cleansing mud mask for your face. Great to clear the pores and helps with acne scars. A bit itchy after 5 minutes of applying it, but then I got used to it and left my skin extremely soft, even the following day.

No breakouts, it’s Alcatraz for spots – a purifying charcoal mask. This was my favourite, even thought it was itchy the moment I started applying it. I’ve used it on the 1st of January, after wearing make up for an entire night (NYE) and it did miracles with my skin.

That’s what we call stung – a skin boosting honey mask. You know how they say honey helps with everything? It really does. I’ve tried this one with my mom and sister. We all have different types of skin, but we all felt the benefits. It leaves a slight yellow colour in the skin, but you can remove it with micellar water or any makeup remover.

I’ve also tried the Smother Superior Nun Better Body Butter, an amazing bergamot and green ginger body butter that makes you feel like you’re floating up in the clouds after every shower. It left my skin very soft and smooth.

I was also the lucky winner of Anatomicals Christmas Giveaway and I got the Let the Gels Ring Out for Christmas. A set of shower gel-filled festive baubles! Inside their casings I found a zesty orange and clove shower gel – a spicy and citrus blend that I’m still using for my showers.IMG_7893

I must say I have a crush on these products since day one and even Olivia was curious about them as you can see in the picture. Now it’s time you give them a try too! http://www.anatomicals.net/

Cosmetic Warrior|Lush Product Review

This is the second face mask I tried from Lush and I’ve used it throughout the entire month of July.

I’ve been trying to reduce the oily skin on my face and I was recommended this mask as a gentle and balancing fresh face mask with antibacterial tea tree and fresh garlic working together to cleanse.

Fresh green grapes clean and cool the skin, whilst free range eggs tighten its texture and antimicrobial honey leaves it soft and moisturised.

You just need to smooth a generous layer of this mask onto clean skin and leave for 10 to 15 minutes. I use cold water (you can also use lukewarm water, but avoid hot water) to remove the mask while massaging my face. You can feel a softer skin straight away and it lasts till the following day. I was able to see a difference on my skin, not as oily as before, but the garlic smell is quite strong and needs a lot of time to get used to.

The ingredients:

Garlic is antiseptic, and its deep-cleansing action helps to reduce spots and clear the complexion, leaving it feeling soft, fresh and comfortable. Garlic is also a source of selenium, which increases antioxidant activity in the body.

Fresh green grapes help to degrease the skin and give a thorough cleanse without stripping moisture from the skin.  They also help apply absorbant powders onto the skin to keep them absorbing excess oil and sweat throughout the day.

Honey is a natural humectant meaning it attracts and retains moisture. In addition to being very moisturising, the antibacterial action helps to thoroughly clean the skin in shower, hair and skin care.

Tea tree oil has been scientifically proven to be antibacterial, antifungal and particularly effective against the types of fungi we call yeasts.

I’ve been reviewing a different mask every month, so make sure you’re following me on social media so you don’t miss any of the posts!

If you’ve tried this mask, please share your experience on the comments’ section. If you have any facial mask to recommend please feel free to share it too.
