Anatomicals Face Masks| Valentine’s series

Valentine’s day is almost here and this year, Anatomicals challenged me to review 4 of their face masks along with my boyfriend.

Andre is not a big fan of face masks. Basically anything on his face makes him feel uncomfortable, but he loves the end result, so I knew this was definitely something we needed to try.

So here are our reviews along with a few crazy photos from the experiment:

Face Mask: I feel the need, the need for seaweed. calming algae face mask

What we have to say about it: Definitely our favour in terms of colour. Andre loved the smell and said it made him feel very relaxed. But what left us speechless was how refreshed and smooth our skin felt after we removed it.

Face Mask: Makes your skin brighter. (if not you) strawberry + yarrow face mask

What we have to say about it: It’s stinging time! This wasn’t one of Andre’s favourite until he took it off and felt his skin very moisturised. I simply loved the smell of strawberries in my skin.

Face Mask: “Anatomicals Farewell The Scarlet Pimperhell Face Mask’

What we have to say about it: I had tried this mask before so I couldn’t wait to see Andre’s reaction to it. Our faces ended up really clean and this mask was great to absorb excess oil. Loved it!

Face Mask: ‘Look, You’ve Got Chocolate All Over Your Face, Anti Stress Mask’

What we have to say about it: We both had a nice glow after this mask. The properties of dead sea salt combined with the moisturising benefits of cocoa butter and shea butter really makes a difference to your skin. Andre said the smell was just like entering M&Ms store in London.

Now it’s time you give them a try too!

Now available on Boots and Boots Online!

My 15 Day Minimalism Challenge| Minimalism Series

The reason why you opened this link is because you probably are at the same minimalism stage as me. Quite at the beginning. And these challenges can be used as guidelines, incentives, whatever you would like to call it. 51d4b368afe9c2aa0f31a2b6dca2ec9e

But we are all here for the same reason – to declutter our lives, both physically and mentally, and really start enjoying more of our free time and what really makes us happy.

I’m not going to tell you, just yet, how and why I started adapting the minimalism lifestyle because I don’t feel like I have enough knowledge and insight yet. I’m very new and I’m still learning and adapting techniques. But what I can do is share with you a few challenges I’ve been through.

Every single point on this list was tested by me, and it not only works, but it also makes you feel really good after finishing it.

1. Clean out your closet

Reserve a full day to go through your wardrobe piece-by-piece and get rid of anything that you haven’t worn in years or even months. Give it to charity, to your friend or recycle it, but take it out of your house. Read more about it here.

2. Unfollow and unfriend

Be a little more selective about who you follow and who are your friends on Facebook or any other social media channel. You don’t need to stay online friends with people you haven’t spoken to in years. Go through your list and downsize. Read more about it here.

3. Get rid of unused makeup, skin/haircare products

Finish those leftovers that you have since months ago or give it to someone that will use it more frequently. If you don’t want to throw products away, start using them more until you finish them and then don’t buy more of that specific product. Just make sure you trow away every expired product. Read more about it here.

4. Clear out your junk drawer

Trust me, it’s therapeutic. Clean out the most cluttered drawer/box/corner of your house. And avoid getting attached to objects, use those emotions on people instead. Read more about it here.

5. Go paperless billing

Choosing paperless billing will reduce the amount of bills you receive. You can choose to receive an email or text message from most companies if you’re worried you will forget about the bill. Create a folder on your e-mail inbox where you save all of it in case you need to go back and check something. Read more about it here.

6. Stay offline for a day

It’s nice to look up and not down for a day. I’ve tried it for a whole weekend. Read my experience here – Social Media Weekend Detox

7. Empty your handbag

Tip it upside down and watch the dust and debris shower down. The less you have in there, the less you will have to carry around and the less tired you’ll be. Read more about it here.

8. Sort through your inbox until it reaches zero

If you delete all the unnecessary emails and organise the ones that you really need in folders, how easy will it be to go on your inbox and find something! Read more about it here.

9. Spend time with loved ones…

Go have dinner with friends or family. Suggest a meal where everyone puts their phones in a box and practices the art of uninterrupted conversation, listening and eye contact.

10. Meditate

There are lots of apps and podcasts that can help you with this. It’s all about taking time to be calm and present in the moment, in doesn’t matter when, where or how often. Just give it a try. Read more about it here.

11. Turn off social media notifications on your phone

You are so used to visit social media that you don’t need notifications to keep reminding you where and when you need to open that app. You will open it eventually and find out what is happening. There is nothing urgency going on while you’re away.

12. Remove decorative items other than your favourites

Give your house a theme and ask yourself what needs to stay and what you need to get rid of because it doesn’t fit that theme. Ask yourself a simple question “Does it serve a purpose functionally or visually?”, then there you go.

13. Write a monthly budget for yourselfb78d091bf3360568d440c0d8b48a3187

Write down what you can save, what you can spend and what you’re going to invest for the next month.

14. Clean out your fridge/freezer

Make sure you thrown away everything that is expired. If you keep it clean it will be easier to see what you have and what you need to buy without having multiple products that will just go to waste.

15. De-clutter your work desk

It will make you more productive and organised because you’ll know where is everything and what needs to be done without being overwhelmed by papers. Read more about it here.

I’ll be writing separate posts about my experiences with each one of these challenge points in the next couple of weeks, so make sure you’re following the blog or any of my social media channels.

Home Spa Day| Madison Reed

 photo IMG_13dddd94_zpsgntzri1f.jpg

If you’ve been following my blog for a while now, you know I never wrote a beauty post. I just felt that I don’t have enough knowledge on this topic to be talking about it. All I know is my personal experience and why would you care about it if, for example, you don’t have my skin type, colour, or even my hair type?

Madison Reed kind of challenged me to share my home spa day essentials. You know, those cold and rainy days we’re you have a break from work or studies and decide to spend the day at home, just taking care of yourself watching your favourite series, taking a long warm bath and eating your favourite chocolate.

So I decided to give it a try to see how it goes and if I should keep writing more posts on this topic.

Here’s a glimpse at my home spa day essentials:

Music Playlist

To start my very relaxing day I choose a few of my favourite songs to play while I’m pampering myself. Here’s the list, enjoy 😉

Kodaline– All I want

Ellie Goulding– On my mind

Dillon Francis & Kygo– Coming Over

Selena Gomez– Hands to Myself

Sia– Chandelier (Piano Version)

Adele– Hello

R. City  feat. Adam Levine– Locked Away

Justin Bieber– Love Yourself

David Guetta feat. Nicki Minaj– Hey Mama

Mumford and Sons– Lover of the Light

Feel free to send my your suggestions below in a comment. I’m always searching for new music.

The products

A long and warm-bubble bath is like sending a message to my body saying “Relax! You can deal with bitches tomorrow”. A few scented candles also help a lot!

  • So one of my first priorities is my hair. Since it’s long and curly it takes quite a lot of time taking care of. Especially after I dyed it. On these kind of days I like to apply my moisturizing hair cream while on the bath, rolled up in a warm hair towel. photo 4-Hair-Color-B-600x600_zps9hi3mwte.jpeg
  • I also love doing my nails. Long were the days were I payed for someone to do them for me. But I decided to stop spending so much money on nails to spend it on food, and since I have quite a creative mind, I started doing all kind of stuff at home. I always start by cleaning them and using a base coat with vitamins to make my nails grow and make them strong. Then I choose my colour for the week. I get tired of the same colour very quickly, so I’m always changing.
  • My boyfriend keeps telling me I have too much creams for everything. He’s totally and completely right. Body, hands, face, hair, everything. That’s how I keep my tanned skin for as long as possible. And now that I’m living in the UK, I have a whole new challenge in my hands, if you know what I mean.

If you have dyed hair too or would like to have it, try this hair colour Quiz from Madison Reed, it will help you being more informed and conscious about your choice.

Netflix Series List

Since I started working at Netflix that I kind of got addicted to the service. There’s no better way to watch my series and movies with high quality and no advertisement. So here goes my playlist:

The Walking Dead

Gossip Girl (over and over again)

The Vampire Diaries

The 100

The Returned (Netflix Original)

90210 (also over and over again)

Now it’s time to wear my comfy pyjamas and make a very hot chocolate with marshmallows. Oh, and my After Eight chocolates. Yes I have a fat mind, so what.
