Stand Up to your Skin

There are plenty of ways of getting your skincare routine wrong. I know that because for several years I was using products that were recommended by friends or that just smelled good.

Now that I’ve done my research in this topic and that I’m constantly on the lookout for new great skincare products that are non-animal tested and that are right for my type of skin and my age, that’s when I can tell you – I know what I’m talking about.

The latest addition to my skincare routine was the Wake Skincare Eye Gel, a very lightweight, hydrating eye treatment for fine lines and eye bags that will help me maintain a young looking appearance for many years to come.

The gel was formulated for our under-eye area and besides evening out skin tone, it also improves elasticity and provides us with long-lasting hydration.

I’ve tried a similar product before from Body Shop, but I wasn’t happy with how long it was taking for my skin to absorb it and that’s not ideal when you’re trying to rush to the office in the morning.

With Wake Skincare eye gel I don’t have that problem anymore and it’s even helping me reduce the puffiness under my eyes.

If you want to give it a try, here’s their website.

The ultimate massage experience at home

Imagine arriving home from a stressful day at work and having a massage always waiting for you.

I’ve recently got a Naipo Shiatsu Kneading Massager Neck & Shoulder Massager with Heat and I’m really enjoying all its features! It has 8 kneading shiatsu massage nodes that give me an in-depth bi-directional massage, which helps with stress relief to tired muscles while soothing away tension for ultimate relaxation.

Its design fits properly to different parts of my body: my neck, my shoulders, arms, back (where I usually have all the pain from being seated all day), thighs, etc. But my favourite feature is the gentle heat from the massage nodes that really help me relax, especially during these cold months.

I also tested it on a long car drive (of course I wasn’t the one driving) and it’s very practical and made the whole experience very relaxing.

This is one of those things that you didn’t know you needed it until you got one, and once you do, you’ll start using it daily because it becomes an addiction. A really good one!

10 ways of taking care of your skin in your 20s | Esse Skincare

Taking care of your skin should be one of your priorities and the earlier you start the better. Here are a few ways to do it and protect your skin in the long-run:

Always wash your hands before you wash your face

Make sure that your hands are truly clean before washing your face, otherwise, any bacteria or other things on your hands get rubbed all over your face, which can cause your skin to breakout.

Don’t wear too much make up

Women in their 20s likely don’t need to overdo it. Keeping it simple makes it quicker to get out the door in the morning and easier to remove it before going to bed. You can always use special occasions to wear more make up.

Take off your make up before bed

No matter how tired you might be, take all of your makeup off your face before climbing into bed.

Invest in good skincare products

Great skincare products are not something only older people use; starting early is a good way to prevent skin flaws rather than trying to simply address them after they’ve already appeared. The question is always – What products are ideal for my skin type? I’ve used Esse skincare website to find out what are the best ones for me and after ordering them and using them for a few weeks now, I can say the results are very satisfying. Using the right products on your skin make such a difference. Do you test here too – https://www.esseskincare.com/personalised-routine

Drink plenty of water

Drinking water can make a noticeable difference in the look, feel, and health of your skin.

Eat Well

Eating healthy, whole foods, or so-called “clean” eating, can make a big impact on the health and appearance of your skin.

Read the ingredients on your skincare products

Learn to read the ingredients on your skincare products because much of what you apply on your skin goes into your bloodstream. I know for example that the skincare products I got from Esse are organic, vegan and cruelty-free. They create an environment on the skin that favours the growth of beneficial microbes. It uses prebiotics to selectively feed good microbes and includes LIVE probiotic microbes in two of the serums to make functional changes to the skin’s microbiome. Esse does not believe in damaging skin in pursuit of short-term results, it optimises skin health to slow ageing in the long-term.

Sleep well

Skin cell regeneration is most active between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. so it’s important to get your eight hours (or so) to wake up feeling energized, happy, and healthy.

Wear sunscreen

One of the best things you can do for your skin is to wear sunscreen whenever you’re going to spend any time outside.

Wear sunglasses

The first signs of ageing you can see is usually around your eyes, where the skin is thinner and more delicate, so it’s important to wear sunglasses with wider sides to protect the eye area from all angles of the sun.
