After 2 years without having a single pet at home, some call that torture, I finally had the chance to get a kitten.
Her name is Olivia and she’s two months old today. She has plenty of energy and cuddles to offer. She’s very responsible, clean and learns things too quick, so quick that it’s hard to keep up with safety measures at home, but that’s something for a whole new other blog post.
Getting a pet shouldn’t be a quick decision to make, there are a lot of things to consider, so it took me 2 years to make sure I had enough free time to be able to spend it with a pet and I think that’s one of the most important things you should do before getting a pet.
You must ask yourself some questions, such as:
- Is my house prepared for a pet?
- How long will the pet be by himself without any company? (Even cats like some company)
- Do I have the money to spend on a pet and on everything a pet will need, such as vaccinations, food, toys, etc.
- And probably the most important question, do I really want a pet or it’s a temporary feeling. Pets are not temporary.
And if you think they are, my next blog series will definitely not be for you! I will be writing blog posts about my experience getting a new kitten, from how to decide which cat to get; how to prepare your home for a cat; how to train a kitten and several other tips that I’ll be learning from Olivia’s experience.
So stay tuned because, cat lovers, this is something you don’t want to miss!
