Sugar scrubs are one of my favourites and are also a natural way to exfoliate your skin with little to no cost.
The coconut oil will seal your skin, remove bacteria that causes larger pores, and moisturize so when you walk out of the shower you won’t need to apply moisturizer at all. It saves a hell out of time!
The sugar actually helps hydrate your skin, will help create younger looking skin, and exfoliate naturally. All important things after the winter.
Adding in fresh lemon juice and zest is great for clearing away any dirt that has built up over the winter as well. Not to mention the lemon leaves a fresh and bright smell while using the scrub.
To make this scrub you will need:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup pure organic cane sugar
1/2 cup unrefined virgin coconut oil
1 lemon zested and juiced
It is easy to add just about any essential oil of your choice to give an even brighter scent to the scrub.
Items you will need to create this:
1 kitchen or mixing bowl
1 spoon for mixing
Glass containers to store the scrub in
1 zester/grater for lemon
Place all the ingredients in the mixing bowl and combine them. That is it. Very simple and easy to do.
Once you combine everything then fill the glass containers with the scrub to be stored in a cool place. The oil will separate some in warm environments, but all you have to do is give it a good shake or stir before you use it.
Do you make any beauty items yourself? I would love to hear about your experiences or tips!
