It has around 35 hectares of land and was created as a reaction to the destruction of the Buddhas of Banyan.
Here you can find from Buddhas, pagodas, terracotta statues and the various carefully-placed sculptures which can be found throughout the gardens.
The central staircase is the focal point of the garden, where the golden Buddhas offer you a calm welcome.
The seven hundred hand-painted terracotta soldiers, each of them unique copies of those which were buried some 2,200 years ago were one of my favourites!
This is a great place to spend a very peaceful day! If you are planning to visit Portugal soon e-mail me on firstname.lastname@example.org and I can give you more tips on places to visit, locations, prices, etc.
