Antico Borgo di Tabiano Castello: Italia

My favourite European country for its food, fashion, cars, landscapes, language, beaches, and the list is infinite. Italia la piu bella!

This year I was invited to a private party in Parma, a city in the region of Emilia- Romagna famous for its prosciutto, cheese, architecture and surrounding countryside.

So we stayed at the Antico borgo di Tabiano Castello for the weekend. Hell yeah! In a castle! Situated in the green hills in the province of Parma, Tabiano Castle dates back to the 11th century.

With rooms, suites and apartments to choose from, divided between the old guard tower and the original main residence, all of them with magnificent views of the countryside and the wide plains of the River Po.

I promised myself that this post wouldn’t be only about food so no, the first thing I did was not going to eat, but I did enjoy a nice swim and tanning session at the swimming pool surrounded by medieval walls and olive trees.

You can also enjoy, inside the relaxation area, which is a natural cave, the sauna and Turkish bath and avail of a range of massage and treatments including Shiatsu, Antistress, Reflexology, foot and face treatments, etc.

Okay now I have to talk a little about food because it’s Italy after all! As expected, the traditional products such as Parmesan and Parma Ham can be tasted at the Relais and products of the area can be bought at the reception. The first photograph above is a “sneak peek” of my breakfast!
