I knew people could do the most craziest things just to meet their favorite singer, favorite actor, etc. What I didn’t know is that people would do the same for the launch of a shop!
Topshop and Topman opened their doors to the public on the 18th of April at the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town, and several people camped at the doorstep for 21 hours, just so they could be one of 10 to win shopping vouchers worth R1500.
I decided to go with my mum to the launch and, silly me for waking up at 8am, to be there at 9am which is the time that the mall actually opens its doors, to be ready at 10am, which was the time that the launch party started.
I didn’t win the voucher, but at least I had my hair perfect and I wasn’t asleep when the photographer took me the photos. A bit of respect for ourselves, people!
Now the important stuff!
Toshop it’s a clothing store from the UK, where you can find the latest trends, buy the funniest tees, vintage style backpacks, beautiful blazers, elegant shoes…Okay, I could take all week to write this list. The store also has the men section called Topman, which also has amazing clothes and accessories. The prices are very similar to Zara, the Spanish clothing shop. The difference is that, at Topshop you have personal shopper service, for free! You just need to call to book and a personal shopper will help you upgrading your wardrobe!
Curious? Here are some photos from: itssimplyheaven.com, an awesome blog that I’m following and you should also follow, by the way.
During the launch you could participate on the competition ‘TOPSHOP PHOTO ME’, which consisted in taking a photo on their photobooth, write your details on the back of your photo and you could win a R500 gift card.
They also had free makeup and nail art makeovers. And you could listen to DJ Skene Brothers live, while you were doing your shopping!
You should check the Topshop website so you can take a look on their clothes: http://www.topshop.com
And like their Facebook page for updates on the new trends a events: https://www.facebook.com/TopshopSouthAfrica
And lucky for you, there’s no need to camp outside the shop anymore!
See you soon,
